If you use downloaded reference, you must have apache server running. Then make subfolder let’s say “js” inside folder where you will keep your projects and call your reference with following script

<script src=”js/jquery-2.1.1.min.js”></script>

Alternative is to put jquery reference on particular url. For example:

<script src=”http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.11.1/jquery.min.js”></script>
